What is beauty? The series focuses on expressing various aspects of female beauty through art, focusing especially on race, facial features, and body shapes. Inspired by Jenny Saville, I paint women returning the male gaze, using graffiti as a symbol of rebellion against beauty standards and eyes as society’s judgement of female appearance. Through paint I instill power in the viewer, inspiring them to defy misogynist societal constructs.
