My reflection on the relationship between life and mortality led to the creation of this sculpture. Inspired by the works of Xu Bing, I separated Chinese characters for life and death into individual strokes. Using a pastel palette to portray the vitality of life, I assembled the strokes into a new composition, an overlap of two opposites, a gray area in mortality, a spark of new life after death.
