PLAYLISTS FOR ART MAKING: THE INTERCONNECTEDNESS OF ART

I wanted to try something different and add in a few fun blogs in between introductions of various artists, so here is a blog on some of my favourite YouTube channels to listen to while making art! Note the order does not matter.

olivialee offers lots of dark academia playlists. I love her song selections. They all bring me into a world of rainy autumn with poets and artists. It is also just super fun to read through all the themes of each playlist.

Cubensis Records offers psychedelic records. I love to listen to the channel’s albums to switch things up a bit.

melontarts also has a lot of themed playlists. Like olivialee, I enjoy reading through the themes, and I love how the songs bring me into a different world.

I think all forms of arts are ultimately related and are connected into a single, intangible concept: to bring enjoyment for people. I listen to music when I make art because I find that music subtly changes the way I work. It is like adding spice to a dish. This interconnectedness between music and visual art enhances the making of art, and this supplement can be further amplified through combining different forms of art together, such as architecture with cooking, dance with sculpture, or installation with performance art. Art is not a single entity but a combination of various artificial representations of different concepts.
